Duane “Dewey” R. Hall, 79, of Lambertville, MI, died Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at The Toledo Hospital. Born February 13, 1936, in Woodville, OH, he was the son of George A. and Bernetta (Shinavar) Hall, Sr. Dewey was a 1955 graduate of the former Macomber High School in Toledo. He then received his Bachelors of Education from Adrian College, where he also played football in 1960 and his Masters degree in School Administration from Eastern Michigan University in 1969. He was employed as a teacher for Rossford and Toledo Public Schools from 1960-1965. Dewey then was a School Administrator and Dean of Students at Bedford Junior High School from 1971-1991. He was a member of the Adrian College Alumni Association & ATO Fraternity, Bedford Lion’s Club, Samaria Lodge #438 F.&A.M., and the Zenobia Shrine. Dewey was inducted into the Adrian College Athletics Hall of Fame in 1973 and Toledo City Hall of Fame in 2004.
Dewey is survived by his brothers, Melvin J. and Raymond W. Hall; special friends, Priscilla and Taylor Durbin, John MacPherson, Tony (Billie) Urbanski, Mark (Connie) Wisniewski, Paul Stokes and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Albert K., Donald A., George A, Jr., and Russell Hall, and sister, Beatrice L. Frederick
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Friday, February 12, 2016, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 13, 2016. Interment will follow at Bedford Memorial Gardens.
